A heroic opera of two acts, Tancredi is based on Voltaire’s
play Tancrède written in 1759. The opera was first performed in Venice at the Teatro La Fenice in February, 1813.
The opera covers all the major themes: love, war, betrayal, trust, heart-break, loss and honour.
